Jason The Hero

Jason I think really fits into the cycle of the hero but I think it happens in a different order but i also don't remember him getting any kind blessing that can get the shape of a wizard of any kind. The only thing I think was close to blessing that Jason got was being trained by Chiron, which was a good help for Jason because he needed his training skills on his journey. Jason faces many challenges on his journey such as evil sorcerers, monsters and many other challenges which are included in the cycle of the hero. I think that they represent all of them very well except Jason his strength is different in some of them making Jason different sometimes but I guess thats the way it is because no one really knows what happened to Jason and all of his companions. They were also very dependent on each other, when in other myths I heard they are sometimes a bit careless. I think the journey of Jason and the Argonauts because the ship was said to be real and could sail, I don't think the golden fleece is real because it doesn't sound very realistic but i do think the journey is real.

Curiosity

The African and the Greek myth, Orphan Boy and Pandora are warning us that curiosity can lead to change, often negative. In Pandora, Zeus handed her a box and didn't notify her what was inside, and she was very curious to look inside, so eventually she opened the box and then monsters sprang out and went into the world and then misfortune hunger and poverty came into our world. For Orpahan Boy there was young boy who came to a old man and had magical powers and young trusted the old man not to follow him but one day he did out of curiosity and the boy saw him and left then the old man died. So as said from the proof that curiosity can lead to change and that can be bad.Pandora - painting by John William Waterhouse (1895)Orphan boy picture by Paul Morin Pandora picture https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg8z1IHLGejwet2RkK8k5SXySti6tDRwDkmfGHAP0U6471zZJa24PnLhhOJsloGcVL_m3qU-yGnCEzRJIcWU9xmehGjRBBPVxGd9Ib4elrmQSgUgRjDIroWGdSKI4_ZTxEIjcEclO1qHjY/s400/pandora.jpg

My Name

Names are a mysterious things, they all have a unique story behind them. Mark is the name my parents gave me. Honestly I thought my name was kind of boring because it was just 1 syllable and there was no nickname to it. But after some time I noticed that Mark wasnt just Mark. Then I saw that there was a famous CIO called Mark Wrostner. There was also a an old king named King Mark he was king before the time of Arthur. Then there was a famous swimmer called Mark Spitz. The name mark was my name and many men had it, I was facinated by what came out. Also I don't see how someone can make fun of Mark, it's so short that it impossible to make fun of. But name still remain's as me not as any of the famous people named like me. When I think about the name Mark it reminds me off all the other people but then I think as Mark as me,I think that though I am not famous or great or special, inside the name mark there will be me and inside I am great to. http://www.facebook.com/profile/pic.php I am great to.pic.php.jpg

Creation myth

Many cultures have creation myth's which are unique to their identity because most of them explain what happened? on earth for instance like how human's came to being or how we got feeling's or nature. Many different cultures seek those explanation. I think that a amazing because cultures didn't even know that other culture's existed. One myth called Phan Ku a chinese myth is a myth that explains how the world was created. One day a man burst out of a cosmic egg, his name was Phan Ku, it was said that he grew 10 feet a day and had hair all over him and he lived for 8000 years. Now the myth continues on by when Phan Ku carved out the world. Then he started decorating he filled in the space between sky and added clouds. The came the river and lakes and ocean's he created them all from his blood, earth from all his skin then from his bones he created all the rocks, after that he made all plant and life form his hair, then the rain came from his sweat, lightning and thunder from his voice. But then he died and he sacrificed himself to complete the world becuase when he died thats how feeling came to human beings because they suffer under Phan Ku's death. This myth explains all 3 main things that cultures seek. I find this magnificent because they are trying to tell us the same thing.Happening

The Journey begins

The quote I chose above me is a saying about a journey, I believe journeys can be told in many different ways. I you can see my picture is a painting of sunrise. You must be thinking whats sunrise gotta do with journey. Well let me tell you something every journey begins somewhere, and I believe when someone see's a sunrise it is like a new beginning, the sunrise is so beutiful that when you see sunrise you think " yeah now "I'm gonna get out there" " I gotta do this". The sunrise gives you hope and confidence in your new journey because I believe that everyday is hard working journey.

Fish Bowl

Today in my humanities class we did a fish bowl about the questions my class mates had about The Giver chapter 3-4-5. Many people did not particapate in the first hadfull of questions which was about the stirring. I guess not many went in the fish bowl on those questions because they might not have understood it fully or the question was to hard for them, so they just sat out the whole time. But then on the second question which was talking about realeasing. Now on that question everyone came in to answer but on that question things got a little outta control, people started getting off task, and there was a lot of side conversations going on, people started racing for chairs, and seats. But the people in the circle still had their conversations. I also find that the realesing questions were much easier then the stirrings. It was a little like the last fish bowl, always the same people went in, so then eventually the conversation would stop and there would be no more ideas to say because the same people kept coming in. But still I think most people had fun in the fish bowl, including me. :)

One child policy or not

The one child policy is a rule that you can only have one child. What I think is that people should be able to have as much children as they want, it rude and against human rights to tell people to have as much children as they want, but then of course the family has to know when to hit the breaks, because life would be pretty hard if you had billions of children, if peolpe are ready to take the resonibility then there is no problem but if you cant then I dont really think you would be able to love, care, give them a good education for them if they were to be succesfull. I think people should have as many kids as they want as long as they can take the responsibility.

Policy deciding the fate of China

Today in humanities we discussed the poilicy of china. It seemed that after the baby boom generation there was a explosion in the population, the population grew so high that china ran low on resourses, china was at ease. Then after a couple of years the policy made a rule that a couple couldnt have more then one child. If a couple broke the law it would come to serious consequenses, and also sons were favored more then daughters, if a daughter was given birth, the parents had the choice to get another kid and hope it was a boy. I think that it is really unfair what they did with the girls. But today in china there are over 30 million men known as "bare branch". But also it was kina good what the policy did to get the population down but the daughter thing was really not fair.

Shakespear Sonnet 7

In humanities today we read and brainstormed a poem of Shakesspear called the 7th Sonnet hen I first saw the poem I was so confused I had no idea what it was about I was lost. But the later on I got a slight idea of the poem, I managed to find out that it was partly about the sun. It was about the sun because it explains how it rises and how it gives gracious light, a man then serves the sacred majesty the sacred majesty could be the sun, I had help by finding what the poem is a about because before we were in groups to brainstormed what the poem and we came up with the idea that it could be about the sun then it became very clear to me.
